Bucks Earn Berth in State Dual Playoffs

Hoke will travel to Jack Britt to face Sanderson High School on 2/7/12. If the team wins their first match they will face the winner between Jack Britt and West Johnston after their match concludes.

This is the second year in a row that Hoke Wrestling has qualified for the State Duals. Pinecrest and Scotland both made the tournament as well. Pinecrest is hosting Cape Fear and Scotland is traveling to Cary to take on Northern Durham.

Jack Britt will host first and second-round matches Tuesday in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4-A dual team wrestling tournament.

Hosting assignments were made Monday by the N.C. High School Athletic Association.

In the dual team match at Britt, the Buccaneers will take on West Johnston of the Greater Neuse River Conference. In the other opening round match, Cap 8 Conference champion Raleigh Sanderson will face Hoke County, a wild card playoff selection from the Southeastern 4-A Conference.

Weigh-ins will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday with the first two wrestling matches at 6 p.m. The winners of the first two matches will meet in a second match immediately following. That winner will advance to the next round of the competition on Thursday.

Also qualifying for the dual team playoffs were South View and Cape Fear. They will travel to Pinecrest Tuesday along with Holly Springs.

South View will take on Holly Springs in the opening round while Cape Fear will face Pinecrest. The two winners meet in a second match.

Rounding out the region 4-A qualifiers is Scotland, while will go to Cary Tuesday to face Northern Durham. The other first-round match at Cary will have the host school meeting Wilmington Laney.
