Home » General NewsFlippin earns sweep over Mountain ViewMarch 23, 2011 Flippin High SchoolFlippin earns sweep over Mountain View The Flippin Bobcats posted a doubleheader sweep of the Mountain View Yellowjackets Monday at Bobcat Field to improve to 7-2 overall and 4-0 in 3A-1 East Conference play. Coach Garry Ash's squad is idle until Monday when it travels to Jasper to take on the Junior Varsity Pirates. Colbie Butcher had a huge day at the plate as he went 6 for 7 in the two games with six runs scored, six RBIs, two doubles and two homers. In the opener, Flippin rolled to an 11-1 win. Butcher was 3 for 3 with two doubles, a homer and three ribbies. Butcher also earned the win on the mound as he struck out eight and walked just two. Ty Leininger had two singles and three RBIs in the win. In the nightcap, Flippin overcame six defensive errors with a solo tally in the seventh to collect an 8-7 victory. Butcher was 3 for 4 with a two-run homer, two singles, three runs scored and three ribbies. Butcher drove in the game-winning run when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Kleighton Stoner picked up the win with three innings of relief. He struck out four on the day. Leininger tossed the first four innings, walked one and struck out four.
