Jr. Girls Close Out Conference Season With Win

The Flippin Jr. Girls finalized their regular and conference season today at home with a win over conference foe Marshall Bobcats.  Flippin was slow out of the gate as they took an 8-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.  Flippin and Marshall matched baskets in the second and went in at half time with Flippin leading 15-11.  Flippin came out of the locker room with a little more determination and focus as they outscored Marshall 19 to 6 in the third quarter and 12 to 11 in the final period as Flippin took a 46 - 28 conference victory.  The Jr. girls will play in the district tournament on Monday night at 6:15 and will face the Cave City Cave Women.  The Jr. Girls are now 19-6 on the season and have a 4-2 conference record.  The girls finished the season tied for 2nd place in the conference and will be seeded third in the tournament by virtue of a tie breaker.  Scoring for Flippin found Amanda Whitman with 20 pts, Bayley Politte and Kaylee Wood with 6, Hannah Davis 5, Corrina Riggs and Amber Varn with 3 pts., Amy May 2pts and Megan Loucks 1 pt.
