PHILOSOPHY FOR SUMMIT JR. FALCONS PROGRAM

            The Jr. Falcon Program is sponsored by the Falcon Football Boosters for the purpose of preparing student athletes with the fundamentals of football for the Summit High School Football Program.  We believe that football is a valuable experience through which the most important values of character, responsibility, leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship and discipline are practiced and learned.

            The program is a collection of the best student athletes, coaches, teachers, parents, and leaders of the Fenton Summit community. Of all of these elements, the most important is the players.

            The program members must believe in these common goals and expectations;

  • The development of our program and our teams must be fun! Hard work, goal setting, and giving of yourself and time, are necessary for an enjoyable experience.
  • Foul language will not be tolerated by players, coaches, or parents.
  • Our goal is to help young student athletes manage their lives.
  • A high level of ethic and morals must be preached and practiced by all our members.
  • Every member should feel the value of having an understood role on a team and member of our program.
  • Players, coaches, parents, and varsity head coach must communicate and respect each person's role in our program.
  • The commitment toward excellence must be practiced by everyone involved.
  • Preparation, planning, and personal development are an ongoing and continuous process, which must be done at the highest level possible. You're either getting better or your getting worse.
  • Every member deserves to have input. Input and recommendations should be shared in the proper setting and have consideration for the group, not individual.
  • Coaches must respect the rights and needs of each team member.
  • Team members and parents must respect the chain of command and must strive for perfection for all expectations.
  • Focus on teamwork, effort, and accountability; the winning will follow.

These beliefs must be held as high priority in order for our program to reach greatness.  These values should be understood and adopted by all members in our program.  These values must guide all decisions made for the program.

            "The Jr. Falcon Program will develop sound fundamental players who know how to do the right thing on and off the field.  Everyone who plays a role in our athlete's life should be held to the same standard and serve as a role model on how the game should be played."
