Eureka Places Two Doubles Teams in State Tourney

With a state tournament spot on the line, Andy Schmid and Collin Mayer left nothing to good fortune. They dominated with their serve and net play to beat their sectional opponents 6-1, 6-1.

They will be joined by James and Michael Huang who won their match, a nail biting 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 victory.

Coach Jason Conley has not reached his goal yet. The Wildcats are still alive to take the whole varsity team to Springfield, Missouri on May 24th. They must win two matches at the Sectional Team Tournament this coming Saturday, May 19th. Saint Louis University High School is up next at 9 AM with a location still to be determined.  SLUH is a perenial contender to make it to Springfield as one of the state's top four teams, and Coach Conley expects a tough match.

Matt Varner and Corey Pieper, Eureka's #5 and #6, will undoubtedly play an important role in getting the team to Springfield. Go Cats!
