Ellinwood High School seniors Connor Birzer and Jenna Snell won the open division of the Dodge City Boot Hill Classic debate tournament held on Saturday, Nov. 3. The pair combined for a perfect 5-0 record and had a near-perfect 16 speaker points. 32 teams competed in the division.
Also in open, Hannah Billinger and Jenna Collins posted a 4-1 win-loss record, and Tawny Arndt and Megan Orndoff went 3-2.
Tamika Arndt and Mikey Hughes went 3-2 and earned medals for 5th place in the 22-team novice division. The team competes at TMP on Nov. 10 and Kingman on Nov. 17.
The students are coached by Julie Ann Jacobs and Angela Petersen.
