The Ellinwood High School Debate Team opened their season at Great Bend on Saturday, Sept. 15. Senior Connor Birzer, juniors Hannah Billinger, Jenna Collins, and Rachel Schloctermeier, and sophomores Tawny Arndt and Shiani Hughes all participated in the tournament. Twelve other area high schools competed at the meet, where students engaged in 90-minute debates over the topic of transportation infrastructure.
Arndt and Birzer won medals for 6th place in the varsity division. The team is coached by Julie Ann Jacobs and assisted by Angela Petersen.
