Volleyball
RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College volleyball squad fell 25-19, 25-, 25- to Defiance College on Wednesday night in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Confernce match.

Andrea Thompson led Earlham with 15 kills against the Yellow Jackets (11-7, 2-0) on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.

Jazmyn Corlew added nine kills and 12 digs with a team-high three blocks.

Ashlee Heberger led the Quakers with 26 assists, while Meg Huffmeyer topped the squad with 15 digs.

Earlham (3-13, 0-2) faces the College of Wooster at home on Friday in a non-conference contest beginning at 6 p.m.

Field Hockey
DELAWARE, Ohio — The Earlham College field hockey team played its third straight road match on Wednesday as the Quakers fell 2-0 to Ohio Wesleyan University.

The Bishops (4-5, 2-4) scored a goal in each period of the North Coast Athletic Conference contest. The first came at 17:03, while the second was at 43:36.

Earlham goalkeeper Emma Treece had 13 saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers (1-7, 0-6) return home Friday for a match against Denison University. The NCAC match on Comstock Field gets underway at 4:30 p.m.
