For two years, I have shared with you my theory for narrowing down your preseason pick for Super Bowl champion. Prior to the 2012 NFL season, I didn't exactly lumber out onto a big limb when narrowing the field down to 20 teams. It wasn't much of a feat for Baltimore to emerge from a list that incorporated 63% of the entire to win it all.
Last season, feeling confident, I took my analysis one step further. I started with my original theory that narrowed the list of potential champions down to 18 teams. I knew this wasn't far enough. By adding one more variable, I was able to eliminate eight teams. My final list was made up of only ten, including the eventual champions from Seattle. But could I go further?
