UC remains committed to AAC after NCAA decision

The University of Cincinnati remains determined to compete at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics, says athletic director Mike Bohn, even though the Bearcats are not a member of one of five power conferences whose 65 members were granted more autonomy to set their own rules Thursday by the NCAA Division I Board of Directors. The legislation clears the way for the five richest conferences – the Big Ten, Southeastern Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference, Big 12 and Pac-12 - to provide more benefits to student-athletes, commonly known as the full cost of attendance, forcing schools with more limited financial resources try to keep pace.
