Welcome to the Red River Rivalry, Charlie Strong.
The first-year Texas coach gets a first taste of one of college football's richest spectacles at the Cotton Bowl, and if he's up to it, a taste of fried Oreos at the Texas State Fair afterward.
There's no other way to say it. Oklahoma-Texas is larger than life in those two states. The Sooners and Longhorns combined for six BCS championship appearances, although they finished 2-4 in those games. At least one of those schools has won 10 games every season since 1999.
