SPAIN LOSES IN WORLD CUP

World Cup champion Spain lost on Wednesday by a final score of 2-0 to Chile.  Spain was looking to become the first nation to win back-to-back World Cup title since 1962.  Chile picked up the win behind two first goals from Eduardo Vargas in the 20th minute. 

With the win Chile and the Netherlands has secured spots in the round of 16. 

Chile and the Netherlands will meet Monday to determine first place in group B.

Spain was viewed as the favorite to become the first European nation to win the World Cup on South American soil.
