RECORD 30 PLAYERS TO ATTEND NFL DRAFT

A record 30 top prospects are confirmed to attend the 2014 NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York, the NFL announced today.

 

Those prospects, who are expected to be selected on Thursday or Friday night, include four quarterbacks – Blake Bortles (Central Florida), Teddy Bridgewater (Louisville), Jimmy Garoppolo (Eastern Illinois) and Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M).

2014 NFL DRAFT FACTS & FIGURES

 

WHAT:

79th Annual National Football League Player Selection Meeting.

 

 

WHERE:

Radio City Music Hall, 1260 Avenue of the Americas, New York City (Between 50th and 51st Streets).

 

 

WHEN:

8:00 PM ET, Thursday, May 8 (Round 1).

 

7:00 PM ET, Friday, May 9 (Rounds 2-3).

 

Noon ET, Saturday, May 10 (Rounds 4-7).

 

 

 

The first round will conclude on Thursday by approximately 11:30 PM ET. In 2013, the first round consumed three hours and 33 minutes. The second and third rounds will conclude on Friday by approximately 11:00 PM ET. The second and third rounds took three hours and 55 minutes in 2013. The draft will conclude by approximately 7:30 PM ET on Saturday with the final four rounds. Rounds 4 through 7 took seven hours and 26 minutes in 2013.

 

 

DRAFTING:

Representatives of the 32 NFL clubs by telephone communication with their general managers, coaches and scouts.

 

 

ROUNDS:

Seven Rounds – Round 1 on Thursday, May 8; Rounds 2 and 3 on Friday, May 9; and Rounds 4 through 7 on Saturday, May 10.

 

 

 

There will be 256 selections, including 32 compensatory choices that have been awarded to 13 teams that suffered a net loss of certain quality unrestricted free agents last year.

 

 

 

The following 32 compensatory choices will supplement the 224 regular choices in the seven rounds –

 

Round 3: Pittsburgh, 33; Green Bay 34, Baltimore, 35. Round 4: Detroit 33; Baltimore, 34; Houston, 35; Detroit, 36; New York Jets, 37; Baltimore, 38; Atlanta, 39; New England, 40. Round 5: Pittsburgh, 33; New York Giants, 34; Baltimore, 35; Green Bay, 36.  Round 6: New York Jets, 33; New York Jets, 34; Houston, 35; Cincinnati, 36; New York Jets, 37; St. Louis, 38; Pittsburgh, 39. Round 7: Dallas, 33; St. Louis, 34; St. Louis, 35; Dallas, 36; Cincinnati, 37; Atlanta, 38; Dallas, 39; Atlanta, 40; Houston, 41.

 

 

 

St. Louis (Nos. 2 and 13) and Cleveland (Nos. 4 and 26) have two selections in the first round. Indianapolis and Washington do not have first-round picks. All other teams have one first-round selection.

 

 

TIME LIMITS:

Round 1: 10 minutes per selection. Round 2: Sevenminutes per selection. Rounds 3 through 7: Five minutes per selection.

 

 

TELEVISION:

NFL Network and ESPN/ESPN 2 will televise the draft on all three days.

 

 

INTERNET:

On Thursday, May 8 at 8:00 PM ET and Friday, May 9 at 7:00 PM ET, NFL.com Live will provide comprehensive coverage of the 2014 NFL Draft from Radio City Music Hall. On Saturday, NFL.com Live will stream NFL Network’s coverage of Rounds 4-7 beginning at Noon ET. Throughout the live stream broadcasts, NFL.com’s “Cover it Live” blogging tool offers fans a unique forum to voice their opinions and interact with fellow fans and NFL Network analysts.

 

The popular “Fan War Rooms” are back, offering innovative ways for fans to follow the Draft, and allowing them the opportunity to discuss a team’s strategy and immediately react once a player is selected. 

 

NFL Fan Pass provides a unique way to experience the NFL Draft with unparalleled access leading up to and during the event. Fans will be able to see exclusive behind-the-scenes video of the players attending New York City, in addition to inside access to Draft parties and events.

 

 

MOBILE:

The NFL Mobile app from Verizon streams NFL Network’s 2014 NFL Draft Coverage in its entirety throughout the three days of the NFL Draft. Also available through NFL Mobile is a live draft tracker, and all news and video on-demand featuring draft and team analysis. 

 

Draft Xtra – a feature of the NFL Mobile app – offers a comprehensive second-screen companion to NFL Network and NFL.com Live’s coverage of the 2014 NFL Draft. Draft Xtra will have both on-demand and live video featuring Elliot Harrison and Bucky Brooks conducting numerous interviews with NFL draftees, NFL greats and fans in attendance at Radio City Music Hall. Additionally, Draft Xtra will provide player profiles and fan participation components.
