THE NON-PLAYOFF NBA ALL-STAR TEAM

The NBA’s regular season is beginning to wind down with teams jockeying for position to see which seeds will make up the 16 tournament qualifiers.  As of Thursday April 10th, Indiana, Miami, Toronto, Chicago, Brooklyn, Charlotte and Washington are in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. Atlanta and New York are fighting it out for the final spot.  In the West, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston and Portland have qualified.  Golden State, Dallas, Phoenix and Memphis still have a chance.   

So what about the players getting an early vacation?  Here is a look at the players who would make up the “Non-Playoff” NBA All-Star team if the playoffs were to start today:

 

First Team:

Carmelo Anthony, Knicks: 27.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg

Kevin Love, Timberwolves: 25.8 ppg, 12.5 rpg

Anthony Davis, Pelicans: 20.8 ppg, 10.8 rpg

Kyrie Irving, Cavs: 21.1 ppg, 6.2 apg

Isaiah Thomas, Kings: 20.7 ppg. 6.4 apg

 

Second Team:

Zach Randolph, Grizzlies: 17.2 ppg, 10.1 rpg

Demarcus Cousins, Kings: 22.4 ppg, 11.7 rpg

Pau Gasol, Lakers: 17.4 ppg

Ty Lawson, Nuggets, 17.6 ppg

Rudy Gay, Kings: 20.2 ppg

 

Third Team:

Thaddeus Young, Sixers: 18.0 ppg

Gordon Hayward, Jazz: 16.0 ppg

Paul Milsap, Hawks: 17.9 ppg, 8.5 rpg

Mike Conley, Grizzlies: 17.3 ppg, 6.0 apg

Kevin Martin, Timberwolves: 19.2 ppg

 

Honorable Mention:

Luol Deng, Cavs: 16.0 ppg

Dion Waiters, Cavs: 15.8 ppg

Josh Smith, Pistons: 16.4 ppg

Jeff Green, Celtics: 16.6 ppg
