2014 American League West Divisional Preview
March 24, 2014INDIANA SPORTS PAGE
After years of disparity, the AL West is about to experience a season where even the slightest cold streak could derail a whole season. Except for the Astros and their planned terribleness, the rest of the division has made tremendous upgrades in order to contend in 2014. The West has been marked by a number of mini-dynasties in the last decade, with the Angels winning thrice from 2007 to 2009, then the Rangers the next two seasons and currently with the still-surprising A's, who are two-time defending champs.
Can the Mariners challenge the big boys and make a run for their first postseason berth in 13 years? Can the Angels overcome their bad contracts? Can the Rangers reclaim their AL throne? Can Oakland continue its improbable run? Today we start with our American League previews, and hope to answer these questions and more.
