Minnesota and Wisconsin Standouts Honored as Three Stars

First Star

Mark Zengerle, Wisconsin

*         Tallied six points (two goals, four assists) to lead Wisconsin to a series
sweep of Penn State

*         Recorded a point on all four Wisconsin goals in Friday's 4-2 win,
compiling one goal and three assists

*         Notched the overtime game-winning goal and added an assist in Saturday's
3-2 victory

*         Leads all Big Ten players with 27 assists this season and ranks ninth
nationally with 0.84 assists per game

*         Earns his first career Big Ten weekly award

*         Last Wisconsin honorees: Michael Mersch (First Star) and Joel Rumpel
(Second Star) on Feb. 25



Second Star

*         Registered six points (two goals, four assists) as the Badgers notched
their first road sweep of the season against Penn State

*         Picked up four points (one goal, three assists) on Friday, including his
fourth game-winning goal of the season

*         Added one goal and one assist on Saturday, including the primary assist on
Zengerle's overtime game-winner

*         Has recorded 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) in 12 Big Ten contests
for an average of 1.58 points per game in conference play

*         Earns his second career Big Ten weekly award and first since being named
First Star on Dec. 10

*         Last Wisconsin honorees: Michael Mersch (First Star) and Joel Rumpel
(Second Star) on Feb. 25



Third Star

Mike Reilly, Minnesota

D - So. - Chanhassen, Minn.



*         Recorded four points (four assists) as Minnesota claimed four out of six
points in a series at Ohio State while holding the Buckeyes to a total of three
goals

*         Tallied assists on Minnesota's first three goals on Friday, including the
primary assist on the game-winner

*         Added another assist during Saturday's 2-2 tie and shootout loss

*         Leads all conference defensemen in goals (eight), assists (20) and points
(28) this season, ranking among the top 10 defensemen nationally in all three
categories

*         Claims his first career Big Ten weekly award

*         Last Minnesota honorees: Travis Boyd (First Star) and Adam Wilcox (Third
Star) on March 4
