IOWA

Iowa improves to 3-0 vs. Illinois this year and leads the all-time series 52-17. The Hawkeyes averaged 77.0 ppg vs. Illinois this season.

Today’s win gives Iowa victories in 12 of its last 15 games.

The Hawkeyes advanced to the quarterfinal round for the seventh straight season.

Iowa improves to 24-7 on the season. The 24 wins is a career best for head coach Lisa Bluder at Iowa.

This makes the 30th-straight game Iowa has had three or more players score in double figures.

Iowa is 11-4 away from home this year, including 7-2 vs. Big Ten opponents.

Junior guard Samantha Logic finished with six assists, moving up to ninth on the Big Ten career list with 583.

Junior center Bethany Doolittle finished with a career-high 26 points. She shot 10-of-14 (71.4 percent) from the field and was 6-for-6 from the charity stripe.

The Hawkeyes improved to 21-1 this season when leading at the half.

Iowa closed the first half with a 15-2 run to take a 41-29 halftime lead.

Iowa had 11 assists on 12 made baskets in the first half. The Hawkeyes finished with 20 assists on 27 field goals.

Iowa had three players with five or more assists in Logic (6), senior guard Theairra Taylor (5) and freshman guard Alexa Kastanek (5).

Freshman Ally Disterhoff recorded 14 points and 12 rebounds for her third double-double this season. Her 12 rebounds is a career best.

 

 

ILLINOIS

Illinois finished with 29 three-point field goal attempts, a new Big Ten Tournament single-game record.

Senior Amber Moore finished with a team-best 26 points. She has scored in double figures 22 times this year with eight 20-point efforts.

Moore was 4-of-14 from three-point range, moving to third on the Big Ten career three-point field goals list with 295.

Moore’s four three-point baskets today gives her 88 for the season, a new Illinois single-season record. That tops her mark of 86 from last season.

Trailing 20-11, the Illini rattled off a 16-6 run to take its first lead of the game at 27-26 with 4:22 to play in the first half.

The Illini finished with three players in double figures with Moore (26), junior guard Ivory Crawford (15) and freshman forward Jacqui Grant (10). It is the 20th time this season they have had three or more players finish in double figures.
