With its 77-62 victory over Michigan on Saturday, Penn State clinched at least a
share of the Big Ten Championship. The Lady Lions (22-6, 13-3 Big Ten) have now won
eight Big Ten titles, which ranks third among conference programs, including three
consecutive championships.

On Penn State’s Senior Day, each of the four Lady Lion seniors scored in
double-figures, leading the team to the conference crown. Ariel Edwards finished
with a team-high 21 points, Maggie Lucas scored 17, Talia East added 16 and Dara
Taylor had 11. Shannon Smith paced the Wolverines with 21 points.

The Lady Lions are guaranteed a first-round bye in next week’s Big Ten Women’s
Basketball Tournament, which will be held March 6-9 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in
Indianapolis. Information on tournament tickets, lodging and history can be found at
bigten.org.
