*         Four American Athletic Conference teams are ranked in the top 25 of both
of this week's national polls. No. 7/9 Cincinnati, No. 11/5 Louisville, No. 21/21
UConn and No. 22/24 Memphis. SMU is receiving votes in both polls.


*         With three weeks left in the regular season, three teams have assured
themselves of first-round byes in next month's American Athletic Conference Men's
Basketball Championship. Cincinnati, Louisville and SMU have all clinched byes to
the quarterfinal round of the tournament.


*         F Luke Hancock scored a career-high 25 points that included six
3-pointers, in the Cardinals' 102-54 win against Rutgers Sunday. The 102 points are
the most by an American Athletic Conference team in a league game this season.


*         Temple picked up its second conference win of the season as the Owls
knocked off No. 23/rv SMU 71-64 at the Liacouras Center Sunday. G Dalton Pepper
scored a game-high 24 points to pace Temple, which has defeated a top-25 opponent
for the seventh straight season.


*         The American Athletic Conference Player of the Week is UConn G Shabazz
Napier (20.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 4.0 apg in a 2-0 week). The American Rookie of the Week
is UCF C Justin McBride (9.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg, .727 FG% in a 1-1 week).


*         The next American Athletic Conference game will be Tuesday as Louisville
hosts USF at the KFC Yum! Center (7 p.m. ET, CBS Sports Network). The Cardinals take
a four-game winning streak into the contest, while the Bulls look to halt a
three-game slide.
