BIG TEN MEDAL OF HONOR 100TH ANNIVERSARY SPOTLIGHT
Indiana's Uwe Blab
Blab was Indiana's Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient in 1985. He led the Hoosiers in
blocked shots for four seasons and currently ranks fourth at Indiana in career
blocked shots (196). Blab scored 1,357 points during his career and led the Hoosiers
in rebounding in 1984 and 1985. He was an Academic All-American, a first-team
All-Big Ten selection in 1985 and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. Blab
was named the Indiana MVP in 1985 alongside teammate Steve Alford, and he was a
member of the 1982-83 Big Ten Championship team. A first-round draft pick, Blab
played five seasons in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors and
San Antonio Spurs.
