PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the
league's weekly men's basketball honors for the week-ending Jan. 26.


AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Shabazz Napier * Sr. * G * UConn
Napier carried UConn to a pair of American Athletic Conference wins as he averaged a
league-high 26.5 points to go with 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.5 steals per
game. He shot 50 percent from the field (16 of 32), 46.7 percent from 3-point range
(7 of 15) and 93.3 percent from the free throw line (14 of 15). He scored 27 points
with seven rebounds and six assists in a 90-66 win against Temple and added 26
points - including 20 in the second half - with three rebounds, four assists, two
blocks and three steals in an 82-71 win at Rutgers.


AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ben Moore * Fr. * F * SMU
Moore helped SMU to a pair of American Athletic Conference wins as the Mustangs
extended their winning streak to five games with victories against Rutgers and
Houston. Moore scored 12 points with five rebounds and two assists, going 4-of-5
from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line in a 70-56 win against the
Scarlet Knights. He added five points and two rebounds in a 75-68 win at Houston.

WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Sean Kilpatrick * Sr. * G * Cincinnati
Averaged 24.0 points and 5.0 rebounds, shooting 50 percent from the field in a 2-0
week.

Wayne Blackshear * Jr. * G/F * Louisville
Scored 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting in a win at USF.

Shaq Goodwin * So. * F * Memphis
Averaged 16.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week.

Markus Kennedy * So. * F * SMU
Averaged 16.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week.

Dalton Pepper * Sr. * G * Temple
Averaged 22.5 points and shot 52.6 percent from 3-point range in two games. Scored
career-high 33 points against Cincinnati.
