1971 Jim O'Brien's 32-yard field goal with just five seconds remaining gave the Baltimore Colts a 16-13 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl V.
1999 The Atlanta Falcons pulled off a major upset with a 30-27, overtime victory over the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship game.
1999 Terrell Davis ran for 167 yards and one touchdown to lead the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos to a 23-10, win over the New York Jets in the AFC title game.
2003 The Jacksonville Jaguars named Jack Del Rio their new head coach.
2003 The Montreal Canadiens fired Michel Therrien and named Claude Julien was named the new head coach.
2006 The New York Jets named Eric Mangini their new head coach.
2007 The Pacers and Warriors completed an eight-player trade with Indiana sending Stephen Jackson, Al Harrington, Sarunas Jasikevicius and Josh Powell to Golden State in exchange for Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy Jr., Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod.
