Senior DeAndre Kane (Iowa State) and freshman Nathan Adrian (West Virginia) have earned the final Big 12 men’s basketball weekly awards before the calendar turns to 2014. Kane is the fifth different Cyclone to earn Big 12 Player of the Week - the first time in conference history that one school has had five different student-athletes win player honors in the same season. Adrian’s award marks the second Big 12 weekly accolade of any kind for a Mountaineer player.

He had a 15-point effort in the semifinals against Akron, grabbing 11 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. Kane then added a 23-point, five rebound performance versus Boise State. In that game, he connected on 4-of-6 shots from 3-point range after entering the game with five field goals from beyond the arc for the entire season. He is one of two players nationally averaging at least 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
