KEY PLAYERS
DE Michael Sam (6-2, 265, Sr., Hitchcock, Texas)
Sam led the SEC in both sacks (10.5) and tackles for loss (18.0), ranking in the top 10 in both categories
nationally... He is the second Tiger to ever win conference defensive player of the year honors,
matching former standout Jeff Gaylord, who won the A.P. award in the Big Eight in 1981.
CB E.J. Gaines (5-11, 195, Sr., Independence, Mo.)
Gaines is now a two-time first-team all-conference performer, as he also won 1st-Team All-Big 12
honors as a sophomore in 2011... The last Tiger to lay claim to first-team honors in different leagues
was Charles Rash, who was 1st-Team All-Big Seven in 1957 at guard, and who repeated at the same
position in 1958 as part of the Big Eight... Gaines led the Tigers with four interceptions and ranked third
in tackles with 68, despite missing a pair of games midway through the season with a leg injury.
DE Kony Ealy (6-5, 275, Jr., New Madrid, Mo.)
Ealy joined line mate Sam as one of the most disruptive pairs of bookends in the nation, as he added
7.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss in 2013... Ealy forced a pair of fumbles in the SEC Championship Game,
one of which was returned for a touchdown in the second quarter by Gaines.
WR Dorial-Green Beckham (6-6, 225, So., Springfield, Mo.)
Green-Beckham emerged as one of the league's top threats as he grabbed 55 receptions for 830
yards and 12 touchdowns, the latter of which tied for most in the SEC... He caught six passes for a career-
high 144 yards in the SEC Championship Game, including two which went for scores.

CB Justin Gilbert (6-0, 200, Sr., Huntsville, Texas)
One of three finalists for the Thorpe Award presented to the nation's top defensive back, Gilbert
enters the AT&T Cotton Bowl with six interceptions this season, a mark that leads the Big 12 and ranks
fifth nationally... He has two pick-sixes on the year, coming at Iowa State and at Texas... His 11 career
interceptions rank him 14th among all active players and his 27 career pass break-ups are the most for
any Cowboy.
DT Calvin Barnett (6-2, 300, Sr., Tulsa, Okla.)
Barnett was a force for the Cowboys in the trenches as a senior, notching 26 tackles, including four
for loss, as well as a pair of sacks, five quarterback hurries and a forced fumble.
LB Shaun Lewis (5-11, 225, Sr., Missouri City, Texas)
Lewis has helped lead the defensive side of the ball for an OSU unit that ranks 14th nationally in
scoring defense... The Texan has recorded 68 tackles, nine of them for loss, as well as three interceptions,
two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
QB Clint Chelf (6-1, 210, Sr., Enid, Okla.)
Chelf has thrown for 1,792 yards and 15 touchdowns, and the senior signal caller also ranks as OSU’s
third-leading rusher with 321 yards and six scores... He ranks among the Big 12’s best in pass efficiency
(136.3) and total offense (192.1 yards per game).
