Michigan and Wisconsin Standouts Named Three Stars

Michigan's Zach Nagelvoort and Wisconsin's Michael Mersch and Brad Navin claim honors



First Star

Zach Nagelvoort, Michigan

*         Stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced to help Michigan tie No. 4/4 Ferris
State on Wednesday

*         Led all Big Ten goalies this week in save percentage (.935) and
goals-against average (1.85)

*         Ranks second in the nation in goals-against average (1.67) and fourth
nationally in save percentage (.944)

*         Has allowed two goals or less in eight of his 10 appearances this season

*         Earns his fourth career Big Ten weekly award

*         Last Michigan honoree: JT Compher (Second Star) and Mac Bennett (Third
Star) on Dec. 3, 2013



Second Star

Michael Mersch, Wisconsin

*         Scored two goals on five shots to lead Wisconsin to a weekend sweep of
Colorado College at the Kohl Center

*         Notched his 100th career point with his goal in Friday's 4-1 victory

*         Gave the Badgers their first lead of the game on Saturday en route to a
4-3 overtime win

*         Leads all Big Ten players with 10 goals this season and has scored in five
consecutive games

*         Claims his first career Big Ten weekly award

*         Last Wisconsin honoree: Nic Kerdiles (First Star) on Dec. 10, 2013



Third Star

Brad Navin, Wisconsin

F - Jr. - Waupaca, Wis.



*         Recorded his second career multi-point game with one goal and two assists
in Wisconsin's 4-3 overtime win over Colorado College on Saturday

*         Opened the scoring for the Badgers to help erase an early 2-0 deficit

*         Added an assist on Wisconsin's second goal of the game

*         Picked up the primary assist on Tyler Barnes' overtime game-winning goal

*         Earns his first career Big Ten weekly award

*         Last Wisconsin honoree: Nic Kerdiles (First Star) on Dec. 10, 2013
