COLLEGE FOOTBALL: A LOOK BACK AT WEEK 6
October 7, 2013INDIANA SPORTS PAGE
College football was good to me last week. I picked 35 of the 38 games correctly! That’s right, 35 of 38!!! That’s good enough for 92%. I didn’t get 92% of anything in my entire life, including high school and college. The three games I did miss on included Indiana’s first ever win over Penn State. That one I don’t mind. The Cincinnati Bearcats lost at South Florida and Notre Dame found a way to beat Arizona State. I really thought the Sun Devils may pull off the win since the Fighting Irish were struggling on offense. But what the heck, three picks isn’t too bad.
There were some big numbers put up again last week including Washington State QB Conner Halliday’s 521 passing yards and three TD’s. Halliday threw the ball 67 times against Cal.
Wake Forest WR Michael Campanaro had 12 receptions for 153 yards and a TD.
Georgia QB Aaron Murray completed 19-of-35 passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns and became the SEC's all-time leader in passing yards (11,625), surpassing former Bulldog David Greene.
Tennessee RB Rajion Neal carried the ball 28 times for 148 yards and two scores against Georgia.
Clemson QB Tajh Boyd threw for a career high 455 yards and five TD’s.
Michigan Tight end Devin Funchess had a career day for the Wolverines, hauling in seven catches for 151 yards and a touchdown.
Miami-Fla QB Stephen Morris went 17-22 for 324 yards and 3 TD’s against Georgia Tech.
Ball State QB Keith Wenning had 346 yards and 3 TD’s against Virginia.
Ball State RB Jahwan Edwards ran for 155 yards and 3 TD’s
Ball State WR Jordan Williams caught nine passed for 159 yards and a TD.
Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater 348 yards and 2 scores against Temple.
SMU QB Garrett Gilbert went 45-70 for 484 yards and 5 TD’s against Rutgers.
Rutgers RB Justin Goodwin ran for 149 yards and had 73 yards receiving and three scores against SMU.
Florida State QB Jameis Winston threw 5 TD passes with a career high 393 yards.
Indiana QB Nate Sudfeld 321 yards and 2 TD’s against Penn State.
Indiana WR Cody Latimer 9 receptions, 140 yards.
Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg 340 yards and 3 scores vs Indiana.
Texas Tech QB Baker Mayfield 368 yards vs Kansas
Nebraska RB Ameer Abdullah ran for 225 yards and 2 TD’s against Illinois.
