Over the past 10 years, five NFL teams have posted a winning percentage of .600 or better, led by the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (126-34, .788). Under the guidance of head coach BILL BELICHICK (right), the Patriots have won two Super Bowls and qualified for the postseason nine times during that span.
“I feel he probably is the best coach of all time,” says New England Patriots Owner ROBERT KRAFT. “Bill’s ability to assess value and build depth sets him apart. I really do think managing in this era is so much tougher than when there wasn’t free agency.
“What’s great about him is that he doesn’t just know the X’s and O’s, but understands the economics of the game, how the salary cap works and how to evaluate talent from the point of view of having been a special-teams coach and a defensive coach.”

That is more than double the next favorite sport, with 16 percent of people claiming baseball as their favorite sport.
In addition, professional football has gained in popularity more than any other sport since 1985 with a 10 percent increase (from 24 to 34 percent).
The third favorite sport in the survey is college football at 11 percent, meaning that football is the favorite sport of nearly half of America’s sports fans (45 percent).
