CINCINNATI, Ohio - Indiana University East's track and and field teams broke or tied
five school records at the College of Mount Saint Joseph Invitational on March 22.
Redshirt senior David Sanders (Indianapolis, Ind./Beech Grove High School) set a
school record in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.69 and tied his own school
record with a leap of 1.85 meters in the high jump (about 6-1). Sanders was third in
the 400 and second in the high jump.
Freshman Kyle Hall (Dillsboro, Ind./South Dearborn High School) set school records
in the 800 meter run (2:05.69) and 1,500 meter run (4:34.21). Hall was fifth in the
800.
Freshman Kearstin McDaniel (Hagerstown, Ind./Hagerstown High School) set a school
record in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:42.43.
Redshirt senior Kait Ervin (West Alexandria, Ohio/Twin Valley South High School)
finished second in the discus with a throw of 33.55 meters (about 110-0).
The IU East women were seventh in the team standings and the men were eighth.
It was the season-opening meet for IU East.
Hanover won the women's team title and Notre Dame College (Ohio) won the men's team
title.
IU East competes at the Hanover Invitational on March 30.
