MICHIGAN DEFEATS PENN STATE

(CHICAGO)  In Game 2 of the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament, No. 5 Michigan defeated No. 12
Penn State, 83-66. The Wolverines advance to face No. 4 Wisconsin at approximately
1:30 p.m. CT on Friday in the second of four quarterfinals.

The Michigan Wolverines avenged and earlier season loss to Penn State with a
83-63 victory advancing to the Quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament.
The Wolverines outscore the Nittany Lions 48-33 in the second half The Nittany Lions
only trailed by 2 at the half, 35-33.
Trey Burke led all scorers with 21 points, and Michigan shot 14 more free-throws
than Penn State. Free throws were the difference as both teams shot near 45% from
the field.

COACH JOHN BEILEIN'S COMMENTS:

JOHN BEILEIN:  Really proud of this team.  From the way they ?? we had a really disappointing loss on Saturday.  Bouncing back is always a difficult thing to do.  But then you get down 14?3, we could have pointed fingers at each other, we could have lost our composure.  Within no time it was a tie game or we were ahead by one.
So really proud of the way they showed great composure to come back and then win the game going away.
