KIAC BASEBALL, SOFTBALL AND MEN'S TENNIS PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Berea, Ky. (March 11th, 2013) - The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference is proud to announce Player of the Week honors for March 4th -
March 10th in Baseball, Softball and Men's Tennis



Ty Butler, Indiana University East - Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Sophomore - Wadesville, IN



Indiana University East sophomore Ty Butler was named the KIAC men's tennis
player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, March 11th.



Butler competed in #1 singles play on Sunday against Thomas More College and
won his match 6-4, 6-0. The IU East sophomore also competed in #1 doubles
with teammate Josh Hollingsworth and won their match 8-1. The Red Wolves
defeated Thomas More 9-0. IU East is currently 1-0 overall and will return
to action on March 17th when they host Indiana University Southeast.





Bethany Sullivan, Indiana Southeast University - Softball Pitcher of the
Week

5-7 Junior - Terre Haute, IN



Indiana Southeast University junior Bethany Sullivan was named the KIAC
softball pitcher of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, March 11th.



Sullivan earned the wins in both outings last week as the Grenadiers
finished the week 3-1. She pitched 5 innings while only allowing two hits
and striking out three batters in an 11-0 win against St. Catharine. The
junior pitcher also pitched 7 innings and only allowed a single earned run
while striking out six as IU Southeast defeated Brescia 10-1.



IU Southeast is currently 4-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play. They will
return to action on March 15th when they play in the USCAA Preseason
Invitational in Elizabethtown, KY.





Jordan Batliner, Indiana University Southeast - Softball Player of the Week

5-7 Sophomore - Floyds Knobs, IN



Indiana University Southeast sophomore Jordan Batliner was named the KIAC
softball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, March 11th.



Batliner finished the week with a .471 batting average (8-for-17) in four
games played last week as the Grenadiers finished 3-1. The IU Southeast
sophomore had three multi-hit games and was 4-for-4 against St. Catharine
with 2 homeruns. She finished the week with 4 runs scored, 2 homeruns and 7
runs batted in.



IU Southeast is currently 4-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play. They will
return to action on March 15th when they play in the USCAA Preseason
Invitational in Elizabethtown, KY.





Zach McLean, Brescia University - Baseball Pitcher of the Week

6-0 Senior - Zionsville, IN



Brescia University senior Zach McLean was named the KIAC baseball pitcher of
the week by KIAC officials on Monday, March 11th.



McLean earned three saves and a win last week as the Bearcats finished the
week 6-1. In all three saves, McLean entered the game with the tying run on
base. He also made an appearance for the third straight day and pitched 6
innings while only allowing two earned runs as Brescia defeated Huntington
8-2. The senior had a 1.93 earned run average for the week and struck out
seven opposing batters.



Brescia University is currently 8-9 overall. They will return to action on
March 11th when they travel Mid-Continent University for a doubleheader.





Blake Crowe, Berea College - Baseball Player of the Week

5-11 Junior - Irvine, KY



Berea College junior Blake Crowe was named the KIAC baseball player of the
week by KIAC officials on Monday, March 11th.



Crowe ended the week with a .615 batting average (8-for-13) as the
Mountaineers finished the week 3-1. The Berea junior had three multi-hit
games including a pair of three hit games. He had four runs-batted-in, a
triple, two stolen bases and scored six runs in four games played last week.
Crowe is currently batting .359 (14-for-39) and has two homeruns.



Berea College is currently 7-8 overall. They will return to action on March
14th when they host Holy Cross College.
