FirstEnergy MAC Men's Basketball Tournament - First Round

No. 9 Central Michigan (11-19, 4-12 MAC) at  No. 8 Buffalo (12-19, 7-9 MAC)

* Buffalo will host Central Michigan in the first round of the FirstEnergy
Mid-American Conference Tournament at Alumni Arena on Monday night. The No. 8 Bulls
are 12-19 overall  and finished 7-9 in the MAC. TheBulls are looking toa dvance to
Cleveland for the 10th straight year. UB's Javon McCrea is the first player in
school history to make 200 field goals in a season (219). He has made 39 more field
goals than any other  player in the MAC (BG's A'uston Calhoun has 180)...Central
Michigan is the ninth seed. The Chippewas are 11-19 overall, 4-12 in the MAC and are
coming off a 71-68 loss at Western Michigan on Saturday. Central Michigan is led by
Kyle Randall who is averaging a league-best 18.3 points per game.

No. 10 Northern Illinois (5-24, 3-13 MAC) at No. 7 Eastern Michigan (14-14, 7-8 MAC)
7 pm. ET * Northern Illinois leads series 50-33

* The seventh-seeded Eagles will host No. 10 seed Northern Illinois at the
Convocation Center for a 7:04 p.m. tip time. The Eagles went 14-17 during the
2012-13 regular season campaign and 7-9 in conference play, Redshirt senior Derek
Thompson is leading the offensive charge for the Green and White, posting 11.2
points per game, while redshirt junior Glenn Bryant is putting up 10.7. Daylen
Harrison is averaging 8.9 points and 4.9 rebounds, while fellow transfer Da'Shonte
Riley has led Eastern on the glass, hauling in 5.7 rebounds a game this season.
Freshman Jalen Ross has dished out 74 assists, good for 2.4 per game, which tops
EMU. The Huskies come into Monday's matchup with a record of 5-24 overall, while
going 3-13 in conference play. NIU's Aksel Bolin is averaging 11.3 points per game
in the last three games, shooting 44.8 percent from the field.

No. 11 Miami (8-21, 3-13 MAC) at No. 6 Bowling Green (13-18, 7-9 MAC)
7 p.m. ET * Miami leads series 77-52

*  Bowling Green opens the MAC Tournament Monday night by hosting Miami in the first
round at 7 p.m. The Falcons are the No. 6 seed for the MAC Tournament and Miami is
the No. 11 seed. BGSU has dominated in the paint lately, scoring 94 points in the
key over the past two games. Senior forward A'uston Calhoun and senior guard Jordon
Crawford are one of three sets of teammates in the Mid-American Conference averaging
at least 30.0 points per game combined at 30.4 points this year. Kent State's Chris
Evans and Randal Holt, along with Toledo's Rian Pearson and Julius Brown, are at
31.0 points...This is the ninth time Miami and Bowling Green square off in MAC
Tournament action with the RedHawks holding a 7-1 advantage in tournament meetings.
The last time the teams met was in the quarterfinals of the 2005 tournament with
Miami notching an 85-65 win. Miami Junior forward Jon Harris poured in a career-high
21 points at Akron on March 5, the first 20-point scoring effort of his career.
Harris was 8-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range against the
Zips. Will Felder leads the RedHawks with 11.6 ppg.
