INDIANA PRESS RELEASE

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head football coach Kevin Wilsonannounced Thursday one of the nation's top prep wide receivers, Taj Williams, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play at Indiana University in 2013. Williams is the 23rd member of the Hoosiers 2013 signing class.

The 6-4, 175-pounder played for head coach Yusuf Shakir at Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, Fla. Williams is a Rivals.com four-star prospect who is rated No. 214 in Rivals250, the No. 25 wide receiver nationally and the No. 34 prospect in Florida by Rivals.com.

Williams made 56 receptions for 786 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior. He also recorded four interceptions as a defensive back, including one to seal Lincoln's regional championship victory.

A first team all-state selection, Williams played in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl. He was named the Leon County wide receiver of the year and selected a team captain and Lincoln's most valuable player.

Williams also is a track standout, where he claimed a 2012 state championship as a member of Lincoln's 4x100 relay team.

Rivals.com ranks Indiana's signing class fourth in the Big Ten and 38th nationally. Williams is the fifth four-star prospect in the class, which is tied with Nebraska for the third-most in the conference, trailing only Ohio State and Michigan.

IU has signed 13 defensive players, six offensive players and four athletes. The Hoosiers have added six defensive linemen, four linebackers and three defensive backs on defense and three wide receivers, two tight ends and one running back on offense.
