BIG EAST MEN'S BASKETBALL

• Marquette pulled even in the BIG EAST win column with last night’s 60-54 win at Rutgers. The Golden Eagles are tied with Louisville at 13-4 in BIG EAST play, while Georgetown is 13-3.

• Georgetown would clinch a share of the BIG EAST regular-season title with a win against Villanova tonight.

• Villanova is 4-1 all-time against top-5 opponents at the Wells Fargo Center, including a 2-0 mark this season. The Wildcats beat No. 3 Louisville and No. 5 Syracuse during a four-day stretch in January.

• Providence won for the seventh time in eight games with last night’s 76-66 victory against Seton Hall. The Friars, who opened the season 2-7 in BIG EAST play, have clinched at least a .500 record in the conference.

• Notre Dame moved into a tie for fourth place with a 66-40 win against St. John’s. Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Syracuse are all still in the hunt for the fourth double bye in the BIG EAST Championship.
