Eastern Indiana Sports

Following its victory over Iowa on Saturday, coupled with wins by Purdue and Michigan on Sunday, Indiana clinched at least a share of its 21st Big Ten Championship this afternoon.  Boasting a 13-3 mark with two games remaining in the conference season, the Hoosiers win their first Big Ten title since 2002, the same season in which they advanced to the national championship game. Indiana can claim its first outright championship since the 1992-93 campaign with a victory over Ohio State on Tuesday night, which will be televised by ESPN at 9 p.m. ET.

The Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament is scheduled for March 14-17 at the United Center in Chicago, with all tickets sold out in advance for the first time in the event’s history. The 2013 tournament returns to the Windy City, which hosted the inaugural event in 1998, and will serve as the site for the eighth time in the tournament’s 16-year history. The Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament features 11 games over four days, beginning with four games on Thursday, and the top four teams will receive byes into Friday’s quarterfinal round.
