WOMEN'S GOLF: TENNESSEE STATE 191, IU EAST 221

OLD HICKORY, Tenn. - Jordan Sparks matched the second-best score of the day as the
Indiana University East women's golf team opened its spring season at NCAA Division
I opponent Tennessee State University on March 1.
Tennessee State won the meet 191-221. The scheduled 18-hole meet was shorted to nine
holes due to inclement weather at the Hermitage Golf Course.
Sparks (Liberty, Ind./IUPUI), a redshirt junior, shot 47 on the par-36, 3,083-yard
course. It was Sparks' first intercollegiate competition in almost two years.
Tennessee State's Kelly Merkel was medalist with a 43.
IU East's next competition is April 2 at the Ohio Northern University Tri-Match in
Harrod, Ohio.
