Eastern Indiana Sports* No. 7/8 Georgetown rallied for a 79-78 double-overtime win at Connecticut
Wednesday night to keep the Hoyas alone in first place in the BIG EAST standings.
* Georgetown erased a seven-point deficit in the second overtime period
after Connecticut had overcome a five-point deficit in the final 1:08 of regulation.
* Georgetown has won 10 straight games - all in BIG EAST play. The 10-game
winning streak is the sixth-longest active streak in the nation.
* Connecticut played its school-record sixth overtime game of the season.
* Saturday's schedule is highlighted by two games between teams in the top
four places in the BIG EAST standings. No. 10/9 Louisville visits No. 12/12 Syracuse
at noon on CBS, while No. 22/22 Marquette hosts No. 21/20 Notre Dame at 2 p.m. ET on
ESPN.
* Marquette has won 24 straight home games and has won six straight home
games against top-25 opponents.
* The BIG EAST Network and SNY have two games Saturday as Connecticut visits
Cincinnati at 2 p.m., while St. John's is at Providence at 8 p.m.
* Georgetown looks to match its longest BIG EAST winning streak in program
history when the Hoyas visit Rutgers Saturday at 9 p.m. (ESPNU).
