MEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: IU EAST 86, ASBURY 82

WILMORE, Ky. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team earned the No. 2
seed for the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament with a 86-82
win at Asbury University on Feb. 19 in the Red Wolves' regular season finale.
NAIA Division II No. 33 IU East (20-10, 10-5) will host No. 7 seed Brescia
University in a KIAC tournament quarterfinal on Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at Earlham
The Red Wolves clinched their fourth 20-win campaign in the last five years.
Asbury fell to 18-12 overall and 9-6 in the KIAC.
IU East scored eight of the game's last 12 points - with six of those points on free
throws - to come out on top in a back-and-forth contest. The Red Wolves trailed by
as much as nine in the first half and led by as much as 10 in the second half.
"Maybe we grew up a bit and realized if we play a little harder, good things will
happen," said IU East coach Mark Hester.
"Some guys stepped up and played huge, and we made some adjustments at halftime that
seemed to work for us, and the guys responded."
Sophomore guard Tyler Fangman (Cold Spring, Ky./Beechwood High School) scored 26
points to lead IU East. Senior guard Marcus Isaac (Indianapolis, Ind./Purdue
University North Central) had 20 and sophomore guard Huston Clark (Kokomo,
Ind./Kokomo High School) had 18.
Adam Delph, the KIAC's leading scorer, led Asbury with 24 points.
