Home » Men's Basketball NewsSEC PLAYERS OF THE WEEKFebruary 18, 2013 Eastern Indiana SportsSEC SPORTS MEDIA RELEASE Arkansas’ Marshawn Powell, a 6-foot-7, 240-pound junior forward from Newport News, Va., was named SEC?Player of the Week after averaging 22 points, 5.5 rebounds, two assists and 1.5 blocks in win at Auburn and versus Missouri. Powell led the Razorbacks in scoring in Arkansas’ game against Missouri, scoring 15 of his 24 points in the second half and helping Arkansas erase a four-point halftime deficit. He nearly posted his fourth double-double of the year against Auburn with 20 point and nine rebounds. He recorded back-to-back 20-point games for the first time since his true freshman season (2009-10). Powell moved into 24th on Arkansas’ all-time scoring list with 1,201 career points passing Mario Credit (1,162 pts) this week.
