Men's Basketball - Phil Hogan, Anderson University


Anderson University senior guard Phil Hogan (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) kept
the Ravens alive for a HCAC tournament bid last week and has been named the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week
for the third time.  The senior scored 33 points with six assists and five
rebounds in AU's 93-85 loss at Hanover Wednesday evening.  Hogan led the
Ravens to a 75-74 win at Franklin Saturday with 25 points, four assists, and
four rebounds, including the game-winning four-point play with four seconds
remaining.  For the week, Hogan averaged 29.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.0
assists per game, while shooting 42.9% from the field.  Anderson (10-13,
6-10 HCAC) currently sits seventh in the league standings, trailing sixth
place Mount St. Joseph by a single game.  The Ravens close the season at
home against Manchester and Mount St. Joseph.


Women's Basketball - Nicole Coffman, Transylvania University


Transylvania University's Nicole Coffman (Liberty, Ky./Casey Co.) paced the
Pioneers to a 2-0 league mark last week and has been named the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the
third time.  The sophomore guard scored 22 points with five rebounds as the
Pioneers defeated Mount St. Joseph 96-51 Wednesday. In Saturday's 57-49
comeback win at Manchester, Coffman netted 27 points with three assists and
two steals.  For the week, Coffman averaged 24.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and
4.0 assists, while shooting 47.2% from the field.  Transylvania (18-5, 14-2
HCAC) can lock up a share of the league title and the top seed in the
upcoming HCAC tournament with a win at Hanover Wednesday or at home against
Bluffton Saturday.


Men's Tennis - Phillip Locklear, Earlham College




Earlham College's Phillip Locklear (Springboro, Ohio/H.S.) won all four of
his conference matches over the weekend as the Quakers went 2-0 in league
play and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's
Tennis Player of the Week.  The freshman earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1
singles and teamed with Kyle Richter for an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles as the
Quakers defeated RHIT 9-0 Saturday.  In a 9-0 win over Franklin Sunday,
Locklear posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles and an 8-1 win at No. 2
doubles.  Earlham (2-0, 2-0 HCAC) will return to the court on Wednesday at
Denison.




Men's Track Athlete - Troy Parrett, Defiance College         




Defiance College's Troy Parrett (Cedarville, Ohio/H.S.) led the Yellow
Jackets at the All-Ohio Championships Saturday and has been named the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the
Week for the second time.  The sophomore logged a new DC record with a
first-place time of 1:55.40 in the 800-meter run, which ranks first in the
HCAC and 16th in NCAA Division III.




Men's Field Athlete - Tom Postema, Defiance College




Defiance College's Tom Postema (Defiance, Ohio/Tinora) won a pair of events
at the All-Ohio Championships Saturday and has been named the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for
the third time.  The senior hurled a first-place and school record shot put
toss of 16.99 meters, which ranks fifth in all of NCAA Division III this
indoor season.  Postema then recorded the longest weight throw in meet
history with a first-place distance of 19.60 meters.




Women's Track Athlete - Kali George, Defiance College



Defiance College's Kali George (East Palestine, Ohio/H.S.) set two school
records at the All-Ohio Championships Saturday and has been named the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the
Week.  The junior set the new DC mark in the 400-meter dash with a
first-place time of 59.21 seconds, which currently stands as the top mark in
the HCAC this season.  George was also a member of the 4-x-400-meter relay
team that finished sixth overall with a school record time of 4:13.46.




Women's Field Athlete - Bridgette Rowe, Manchester University




Manchester University's Bridgette Rowe (LaQuinta, Calif./H.S.) won a pair of
events at the Anderson Raven Invitational Saturday and has been named the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the
Week.  The sophomore registered a school record leap of 35' 1.25" to win the
triple jump, while also earning a first-place finish in the high jump with a
mark of 5' 1.75".
