RICHMOND, Ind. - Morgan Dobbs, a 5-10 senior at Brown County High School in Nashville, Ind., has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for Indiana University East starting with the 2013-14 school year.
The school announced the signing Feb. 6.
Dobbs was a three-time all-conference player at Brown County. She was named Brown County's defensive player of the year as a sophomore and then offensive player of the year as a junior. She posted Brown County's top hitting efficiency numbers as a senior.
Dobbs helped Brown County to a 22-6 record as a senior and was part of the Eagles' sectional champion team in 2010.
"Morgan is a very strong and versatile player who will without a doubt push herself and her teammates to become better," said former IU East coach Charlie Brown, who handled the recruitment of Dobbs.
Dobbs is the daughter of Michael and Kimberly Dobbs. She plans to major in nursing.
"I chose IU East for the nursing program, a comfortable campus and a family atmosphere within a top-notch volleyball program," Dobbs wrote.
IU East is an NAIA program. The Red Wolves have advanced to the NAIA Volleyball National Championship in each of the last four seasons. IU East is one of five schools in the NAIA with 30 wins in each of the past four seasons. The Red Wolves are second in the NAIA with 150 wins over the past four years.
