They apparently haven't yet decided to do the same with Purdue. Purdue coach Danny Hope said during his weekly news conference that he is not aware of any conversations between Purdue and Notre Dame to end its series. The schools have played every year since 1946 and have an agreement to play through 2021, but Notre Dame officials have said that some of its long-standing rivalries will end when the school begins its affiliation with the Atlantic Coast Conference. in three years Hope and other Purdue officials expect the Boilermaker-Irish series to continue. “In my mind it’s a no?brainer," Hope said. "The schools are so close together, and it’s a great rivalry game. From a travel standpoint it makes sense, and if you look at the record the last 20 years, Notre Dame has won more than they have lost, so I would assume it will be logical to continue with the rivalry and I hope it goes in that direction.” A few more notes on the Boilermakers:
