Nike's see-through NFL pants causing stir

We see London, we see France, we see NFL players' underpants.

Many folks, including Out Sports and The PostGame took notice this weekend of the, uh, sheerness of Nike's new NFL uniform pants. Not much was left to the imagination, if you catch my drift.

The NFL's version of whale tale -- let's call it moose caboose -- has always been around. Late in games, the big ol' lineman get sweaty, the moisture makes their pants stick to body parts around the pants area and you get a show no one wants to see. Nike's pants appear to accelerate the issue.

A man should have a right to choose whether he wears dark compression shorts under a light-colored pant. But when I'm getting close-up views, it becomes a problem belonging to all of us.

Nike is in the first of a five-year deal as the league's official outfitter, replacing Reebok. When the apparel company announced its uniform redesign in the offseason, it boasted that jerseys and pants were 20 to 30 percent lighter than what players wore last year. LOOKS TO BE!

While watching games on Sunday and being unable to avoid jock-strap lines and odd shapes, I'm sure there were many people throughout the country who thought, "you know, sometimes this HD thing isn't all its cracked up to be."
