Modell, the former Ravens owner and an instrumental figure in making Monday Night Football a fixture in America, passed away last Thursday at the age of 87. Sporting helmet decals commemorating Modell, the Ravens hammered the AFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals in the season opener, 44-13, thanks in part to a terrific performance by Joe Flacco. Final Score: San Diego 22, Oakland 14 Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Nate Kaeding made five field goals, three coming off Oakland special teams miscues, and the San Diego Chargers downed the Raiders, 22-14, to spoil Dennis Allen's head coaching debut in the season opener for both teams.
