Home » Football NewsINTs help Red Devils knock off GiantsSeptember 9, 2012 Eastern Indiana SportsMARION, IND. — Two memorable interceptions highlighted Richmond’s rise to 2-0 in the North Central Conference. Jimmy Bailey took one pick back about 105 yards for a touchdown, and Nathan Flannery’s interception put an end to Marion’s last real gasp during Saturday’s 28-12 victory for the Red Devils. “I just saw a tipped ball and I picked it off. I saw Bryson Yates block for me and I caught up,” Bailey said. “It was just a long run. I just wanted to score and help my team out.” Help them out he did — and he wasn’t alone. This one started out as all Red Devils. Taylor Kidd scored on a 3-yard run, Bailey returned his pick 105 yards and Justyn Curtis found Kristian Rodriquez for a 12-yard score and a 21-0 lead before the first quarter was even over. It was a Saturday evening game because Friday’s contest was washed out by rain and lightning. That meant two trips to Marion in two days for the Red Devils. “I think it just motivated us even more to get a ‘W,’” said RHS senior Skyler Coleman. “We didn’t want to come up here twice to walk away with a loss.”
