DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Md., is nationally renowned for its athletic programs, notably football and basketball, and thus the Stags often play games out of state.

Sometimes that can lead to problems.

The Washington Post reports that five players have been removed from the program after prostitutes allegedly were hired from a call service to go to the team's hotel following a 52-14 season-opening win at Hillside (N.C.) last Friday.

Two players withdrew from DeMatha, two have been recommended for expulsion pending appeal and one faces a disciplinary hearing, two people with knowledge of the incident told The Post.

DeMatha had 18 adults supervising the trip and bed checks reportedly were conducted at 1:30 a.m., with a final hallway check at 4 a.m., the morning after the Friday-night game.

According to a parent of one of the players who withdrew, players brought the three prostitutes into the hotel at 5 a.m. after using a website to hire the women.

The names of the five players facing discipline have not been made public. All five are minors and non-starters on the team, according to The Post.
