Conference is proud to announce Player of the Week honors for August 27th -
September 2nd in Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country, Men's Soccer,
Women's Soccer, Volleyball, and Women's Tennis
Mackenzie Pinto, Point Park University - Women's Soccer Defensive Player of
the Week
5-5 Sophomore - Harleysville, PA
Point Park University sophomore Mackenzie Pinto was named the KIAC women's
soccer defensive player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September
3rd. Point Park University won their season opener 5-0 at West Virginia
Institute of Technology. Pinto earned the shutout for the Pioneers. Point
Park is 1-0 on the season. They will return to action on September 5th when
they host Geneva College.
Megan Kuntz, Point Park University - Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the
Week
5-3 Sophomore - Newville, PA
Point Park University sophomore Megan Kuntz was named the KIAC women's
soccer offensive player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September
3rd. Point Park University won their season opener 5-0 at West Virginia
Institute of Technology. Kuntz scored two goals and assisted on another to
guide the Pioneers to the victory. Point Park is 1-0 on the season. They
will return to action on September 5th when they host Geneva College.
Trent Popp, Asbury University - Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
5-10 Senior - Danville, IN
Asbury University junior Trent Popp was named the KIAC men's soccer
offensive player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September 3rd.
Asbury won their first two regular season games and finished the week 2-0
after defeating Johnson Bible College 15-0 and Hanover College 5-1. Popp
scored three goals and had three assists against Johnson Bible College. The
senior forward also had a goal and three assists against Hanover College.
Asbury University is 2-0 on the season. They will return to action on
September 4th when they host Taylor University.
Griffin Appel, Asbury University - Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
5-11 Sophomore - Versailles, KY
Asbury University sophomore Griffin Appel was named the KIAC men's soccer
defensive player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September 3rd.
Asbury won their first two regular season games and finished the week 2-0
after defeating Johnson Bible College 15-0 and Hanover College 5-1. Appel
picked up two wins in his first two career starts. He only allowed one goal
in 135 minutes. Asbury University is 2-0 on the season. They will return to
action on September 4th when they host Taylor University.
Emily Underwood, Indiana University East - Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Sophomore - Milton, IN
Indiana University East sophomore Emily Underwood was named the KIAC women's
tennis player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September 3rd.
Underwood won her #3 singles match against University of Saint Francis 6-3,
0-6, 6-2. St. Francis won the event 8-1. The IU East Red Wolves are 0-1
overall. They will return to action on September 5th when they host
Manchester College at Glenn Miller Park in Richmond, IN.
Seth Prince, Indiana University East - Men's Cross Country Runner of the
Week
Sophomore - Albany, IN
Indiana University East sophomore Seth Prince was named the KIAC men's cross
country runner of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September 3rd. The
Red Wolves competed in the Asbury University Chick-fil-A Invitational on
August 30th. Prince won the 5K and broke the IU East record with a time of
17:49. IU East placed second in the event. They will return to action on
September 8th at the Grace College Lancer Cross Country Invitational.
Kim Miller, Asbury University - Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Freshman - Harlan, KY
Asbury University freshman Kim Miller was named the KIAC women's cross
country runner of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September 3rd.
Asbury University hosted the Chick-fil-A Invitational on August 30th and
finished first in the event. Miller won her first career race after winning
the 5K with a time of 21:28. The Asbury Eagles will return to action on
September 8th at the Centre College Invitational in Danville, KY.
Lindsey Oberacker, Point Park University - Volleyball Player of the Week
6-0 Senior - Erie, PA
Point Park University senior Lindsey Oberacker was named the KIAC volleyball
player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September 3rd. The Point
Park Pioneers finished the week 4-0 and finished the weekend as Co-Champions
of the NCAA division II Fairmont State Falcon Fest. They were one of only
two teams to go undefeated. Oberacker led Point Park to an undefeated week
with 37 kills, 120 total attacks, 35 digs, and 10 aces over the four
contests. Point Park is now 7-1 on the season. They will return to action on
September 5th when they play Seton Hill College.
