Noh, who has one win on the European Tour, missed the course record by one shot, but his 62 was a career-best by three strokes on the PGA Tour. Chris Kirk is alone in second place at minus-8 at the TPC Boston. Former champion Tiger Woods opened with a 7-under 64. He was joined in third place by Ryan Moore and Jeff Overton. World No. 1 Rory McIlroy and Bryce Molder share sixth place at minus-6. Woods started on the back nine and collected birdies at the 11th and 13th. After four straight pars, he 2-putted for birdie on the par-5 18th to kick off a stellar run of golf.
