Home » Football NewsQUAKERS OPEN SATURDAYAugust 31, 2012 Eastern Indiana SportsEarlham College will have its first opportunity on its new turf Saturday afternoon. The Quakers play host to Oberlin College in a season-opening football contest at Darrell Beane Stadium. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m. It will be the first game for Earlham under new head coach Neil Kazmierczak. He was hired in April to lead the Quakers. “I think it’s going relatively smoothly,” Kazmierczak said recently. “I think it’s a process of getting to know the Earlham culture and the Earlham campus. “We’ve had lot of people at Earlham who have stepped up to help us and been very supportive of us, which I really appreciate.” Kazmiercazk appreciates the Quakers’ new playing surface, too. A restricted capital project leadership gift from an Earlham alumnus made the project possible as turf has been installed at Darrell Beane. http://www.pal-item.com/article/20120830/SPORTS/308300024/Quakers-ready-hit-turf
