Xavier expels Dez Wells

Xavier’s men’s basketball team’s top returning scorer has been expelled from the university.

Atlantic 10 Conference all-rookie team selection Dez Wells, who averaged 9.8 points and 4.9 rebounds as a freshman, was dismissed from the school Tuesday for “a serious violation of the Code of Student Conduct.”

A statement released by Xavier said such a violation will not be tolerated, and no further comments would be made per federal privacy law restrictions.
