Colts Camp: Defense has its way during Monday's workout

ANDERSON, Ind. – Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians couldn’t help but praise the guys on the other side of the line of scrimmage after this afternoon’s training camp practice at Anderson University.

Asked how his offensive line is coming along, Arians thought about how outside linebacker Dwight Freeney pressured rookie passer Andrew Luck most of the day and defensive end Cory Redding scooped up a fumble off a botched reverse to score a touchdown.

“Up until today, I thought it was pretty good,” Arians said of his O-line. “We’ve been playing pretty well for three days (but) the defense took it too us pretty good today.

“I’m anxious to see the film. I had a feel on the field and (we’ll) see if the film confirms it. I don’t think it was our best day today, but overall I’m pleased with where they’re at. I think we’re going to have a solid group of guys with depth.”

It’s not that the offense didn’t make a few plays. Luck hit rookie receiver LaVon Brazill with a bomb for one score and found veteran Reggie Wayne for two more. An estimated crowd of 2,000 let out some of its loudest cheers for those.
